Why tailor-made suit
Bespoke vs
custom made
CM
We do not keep it secret that our suits are produced by combining both hand and machine craft. 100% handcrafted suits fall into the bespoke category and are usually the most expensive. Precise details and exclusive materials, these are the things that these strictly hand-crafted suits are known for and are appraised only by true connoisseurs. Their price is usually immensely high.
We do not produce such suits because we think that the core part of a suit is its functionality. Which is why we remind our customers to look out for the bespoke tagged products. What often happens is that to artificially increase sales the most expensive suit is tagged in catalogues of various manufacturers, however they are usually partially machine-sewn.
We tend to every detail
custom made

Sleeve openings
01
The fact that Matteo Bernetti suit fits well on shoulders as well as in the armpit area is a result of precise cut fabric.
Symmetry
02
Both halves of a suit should be symmetrical and the seams should pass through the center of the back piece. Both pattern and texture of the fabric have to be balanced, it is important to check if the top part of shoulders and bottoms of pockets fit.

Buttons
03
Tailor-made suits are usually produced with quality plastic buttons as well as true anther buttons. You can also pick the last sleeve button in contrasting color matching the jacket’s underlay. The courageous can consider more multi-color buttons, it is all up to you.
Button holes
04
Tailor-made Matteo Bernetti suits are sown with real and functional sleeve button holes. Apart from more elegant look and practicality, such element adds to the suit’s hallmark of quality. It signifies that the suit at hand is not a regular ready-made suit. Contrast braid of the last button hole serves as an added effect.

Suit reinforcement
05
Make sure to pay extra attention and check the insert that seams the suit’s chest and lapels. Highest quality inserts are made of linen cloth or wool with horse or camel fur. Thanks to it the suit takes its shape and form. Every Matteo Bernetti suit accommodates ‘half-canvas’ type inserts.
Proportionality
06
During the try-out we will agree on the precise waist button placement (it is the top one on two-button suit and middle one on three-button suits). Its placement serves to design the suit’s proportionality, for example pocket bottom parts, breast pocket and other. We will help you with proper placement of this element so it aptly matches your figure as well as the suit’s overall looks.

Underlay
07
Most suitable material to make the suit’s internal underlay is viscose – natural material, cellulose fiber. Quality underlays could also be made of material which is a combination of viscose with acetate, e.g. artificial silk (rayon). You should avoid polyester underlays.
Monogram
08
Have your tailor-made suit signed with your own initials – a monogram. Such a monogram bearing your name, logo or initials, would only confirm the fact that the suit was made for you only.

Lapel
09
With half-canvas insert type suits, the lapel insert should be sewn to the rest of the suit manually. Matteo Bernetti offers different shaped lapels so you can design your suit as you desire. Choose from straight or pointed lapel, or atypically sized lapel? The options are infinite.
Does it fit?
10
Does it fit in the waist area? Isn’t it too tight or, on the contrary, too baggy? Does the sleeve length and width fit? Do you feel comfortable wearing it? Doesn’t it limit your movement? At try-out we inspect every detail of the suit so it fits just right. Any feedback you would provide will be implemented.

made to measure vs custom made
Our products are separated into two categories based on how they are made: custom made (tailor-made suits) and made-to-measure (suit created using preexisting patterns). Made-to-measure is usually employed by distributors, boutique and brand owners, who have the ability to order tailor-made suits, casual jackets and trousers for their customers.
